My name is Jessie Willyerd and I’m an artist specializing in the Equine form. I work in many mediums including acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastel, and photography.
I’ve been crazy about horses my whole life. I spent much of my childhood with either a Breyer horse or a pencil in my hands. I never outgrew my love for horses so they’ve become my greatest teachers and have certainly guided me along my path.
I have many experiences behind me now, from gentling wild horses to teaching art at the Elementary level (Guess which one was more challenging!) I’ve come to realize that my heart will always call me back to what I love and I am enjoying the ride along the way.
When I first became serious about pursuing art full time, I knew that I wanted to create from my own reference photos. I have been photographing horses since 2001 (back when film was a thing!) My equipment received a major upgrade in 2016 and I’ve spent the last 3 years developing and growing my reference library.
I created this site in order to provide easy access to affordable reference photos for equestrian artists. I look forward to inspiring those who inspire me.
